Gov / Hatcher Pass Management Plan Review (unsent)

This letter was intended to accompany the Willow Trails Committee recommendations; through an oversight it was never sent however. Instead the WTC forwarded their ideas directly. That text can be found here.

RE: Hatcher Pass Management Plan Revision

At our Willow Area Community Organization meeting last night we had a good discussion about the suggestions in the attached letter from the Willow Trails Committee. On behalf of WACO, they have done an outstanding job at identifying issues about management of the land and resources in Hatcher Pass, discussing them in depth, and proposing solutions that will work. We did not have a quorum to finish the acceptance and approval process. However, those in attendance believe that this letter does reflect the view of the majority of those who live in Willow, and those who responsibly recreate and hunt in Willow. So we are submitting these as our recommendations. We will keep the letter on our agenda for our next meeting and will follow up with an official comment. But we feel strongly that we need to have a voice now in the planning in process, thus we send this preliminary opinion and the wonderful suggestions drafted by the Trails Committee.

Please feel free to contact me if you need any further information.

Thank you,
