Officers Reports

Treasurer’s Report.

  • Financial Report for April was presented.
  • The budget for the next fiscal year was presented.
    MOTION: Claire Fitzgaireld moved to accept the budget as presented. The motion was seconded.
    VOTE: Motion passed with no objection.
  • The Treasurer requested a budget from the Carnival Committee.
  • The Treasurer presented a request to replace the vacuum cleaner.
    MOTION: Michael Bishop moved that WACO replace the vacuum cleaner. Motion was seconded.
    VOTE: Motion passed with no objection.

Chair’s Report.

  • Public Hearing on Railroad Spur at MSB Planning Commission meeting May 17th.
  • Master Willow Airport Planning meeting May 11th.
  • WACO received thank you from Willow Elementary School children for the donation to their swimming program.

Carnival.

Mary Shreves:

  • Carnival Committee meetings are the 3rd Monday of the month.
  • Next year is the 50th.

Trails.

Steve Charles:

  • A planner has been selected for the Summer Trails Project.
  • There will be a Trail planning/design and construction workshop on May 17th.
  • Committee is working on Public access to Willow Lake.

Letter to STB.

MOTION: Dale Evans moved that WACO send the letter regarding the Railroad Spur to the STB. Motion was seconded.
AMENDMENT: Donna Quante moved that the letter be amended to refer to the information provided by Grace & Tom Whidbee. Motion was seconded.
VOTE: Motion to amend failed with no votes for.
VOTE: The main motion passed with 29 for and 1 against.

Letter to DOT regarding Willow Airport Planning.

MOTION: Michael Bishop moved that WACO send the letter regarding the Willow Airport Plan to DOT. The motion was seconded.
AMENDMENT: Jim Huston moved that the letter be amended to refer to Ron Swanson’s letter regarding Willow Airport property. The motion was seconded.
VOTE: Amendment failed with 29 against and 1 for.
VOTE: The main motion passed un-opposed,

Timber Sale NE of Willow.

If the sale is greater than 10 acres, this will be discussed at the next meeting.

  • Carnival awards will be presented at the Ice-cream Social May 7th at WCC at 6:30pm.

Nina Davidson:

  • Election of officers will be held tomorrow night at 7pm.

Claire Fitzgaireld:

  • For Mothers Day - Motorcycle Mamas. ABATE will give safety training.
  • Summer Reading Program starts in June.

Chamber of Commerce.

Jim Huston:

  • May 5th Open House at the DeLucia building. 6pm food will be served, 7pm Chamber meeting starts. Guests are Senator Huggins and Representative Neuman.
  • June 2nd at WCC Political forum with the candidates for Governor.
