Linda Brenner, Community Development, MSB, July 8, 2009
Dear Linda,
At the July 6, 2009 WACO meeting the issue of the old Commu‐
nity Center located on the Borough land managed by WACO was
introduced. I have been directed to communicate with you
about this issue.
To quickly recap ‐ WACO sold the building to the Willow His‐
torical and Wildlife Foundation in August of 2006. We
leased it back for the next 2 years. WACO has never seen
direct evidence regarding WHWF insurance coverage for the
old building although a letter was sent us by Ron Swanson
stating that storage building coverage was in effect at that
time.
We have growing concern about risks of this building remain‐
ing where it is, in its current state, with unknown insur‐
ance coverage. I have sent a letter to them of which you
should have received a copy seeking information. We are
concerned that WACO and the Borough may share a liability
concern. As the land owner, we are requesting a list of
options that you might recommend to us. Timing is important
as we need to work with you and your staff in the near
future about renewing our Management Agreement and believe
that this issue may need to be addressed either by that time
or during negotiations.
We will look forward to information from you. In advance,
Thank you,
Sincerely,
