Assembly Representative’s Report
Vern Halter could not attend the meeting because Talkeetna Community Council meetings are on the same day of the month as WACO’s and he alternates between the two. He sent word that there was going to be a meeting between the MSB Assembly and the Valley’s State Legislative representatives at The Sports Center in Wasilla on January 7 at 11am.

- There is still no decision regarding the Rail Spur.
- Any decisions about energy are on hold.
- MSB informed us that Jim Huston has asked for his own management agreement with them for the Old Log Building.

Carnival
Pat Madigan:
- T-Shirts have been ordered.
- Carnival Flyers are about ready for the printer and will be mailed to every boxholder in Willow.
- The permit from DOT to use Willow lake has been applied for.
- There will be no King & Queen or Gold Pan Awards this year.

Trails
Steve Charles:
- Started to use the $16,000 grant for trail grooming.
- The Summer Trails Group are requesting that they be a sub-committee of the Trails Committee. Next Meeting is January 13th. Will be working on getting public input., then will produce an RFP to go to engineering companies.
- Bike Clinic - January 20th at Willow Community Center. (Fat Tire)
- We have until March 15 to comment on the MSB Resource Management Units. Several are in the Willow area.
- January 12 at 7pm there is a State Parks Advisory Board meeting.

Unfinished Business
Summer Trails Project.
The following motion was brought forward from the last meeting.
MOTION: Roni Widner moved that WACO recognize the Willow Trails Committee and the WHO as equal partners in the Summer Trails project. Motion was seconded.
MOTION: Roni Widner moved that the motion be postponed indefinitely. Motion was seconded.
VOTE: The motion to postpone passed without objection.

NW Area Report
Dana Hills:
- The 300 foot ROW on the Parks Hwy between MP 72 and 83 is being clearcut. There is a suit pending regarding this issue.

- The raffle run by WACO on behalf of the PTA made about $5000.

Deborah Bloom:
- Derral Godbee was named responder of the year.
- There was a plane crash at Willow Airport.

- 98 families were helped over Christmas with assistance from local churches.
