Chair’s Report
- The electrical audit was completed by Jim Dukes. All his recommendations will be implemented by MSB as part of the installation of the emergency generator and rewiring. We will be responsible for making sure all appliances function properly.
- The 40 acre recreational site has been handed to Tracy McDaniel (MSB) and she is in the process of writing the management agreement.
- Ron Swanson suggested that we put together a proposal for Mr Duffy asking that alcohol be allowed in the Community Center for certain events. So that is what we are going to do.
- There was a meeting with Keith Roundtree concerning the filling in of the swamp in front of the Center and about access to 1st Ave. Keith is investigating the 2 items and will get back to us.
- The hours for the Willow Post Office will not be changed. Whether you are entitled to a free PO box or not will be decided on a case by case basis.
- The open case in Small Claims Court against Shawn McCrary was given to Jim Huston to handle. Since nothing has happened since August 2006, the Chair has requested an update from Mr Huston.
- Our letter was sent to the ADN concerning incorrect information about WACO selling the mounts to WHWF. Jim Huston sent a correction stating that we gave WHWF the mounts before our letter was published.
- The date for the Pralles’ suit against WACO is August 17th. Mr Pralle has filed 3 motions, one to amend the claim, one to strike our defence and one for summary judgment. Our lawyer has filed replies to those plus a request for summary judgment in our favor. Anyone who wishes may look at the paperwork.
- There will be a Board Meeting June 13 at 7pm. On the agenda will be our financial status and the caretaker and library contracts.
