- States best interest does not merely consider financial gain, but also future access, infrastructure improvements;
- Proposed sale includes large road setbacks, stream protection, untouched islands of growth;
- Commercial/residential development is unlikely as area has a State Forestry land designation;
- On concluding operations, access (trails, logging roads) will be improved;
- Care will be taken to safeguard existing trails, access but some temporary restrictions may be inevitable;
- Selective tree removal will improve the forest (healthier re-growth through scarification);
- Representative for NPI is an area local concerned with preserving forests for community and children, but does not view this as incompatible with selective logging.
