Caretakers’ Claim for Back Wages.
The Chair read a letter from the law firm of Sedor, Wendlendt & Wang LLC concerning attorney-client privilege and executive sessions.
MOTION: Pat Madigan made the following motion.
Given that Mr & Mrs Pralle have indicated that they will file a claim of $84,000 against WACO if we, the WACO board do not negotiate with them. Given that the attorney wishes to communicate with us, the WACO board in confidence and this is a matter of attorney-client privilege.. Given that the Open Meetings Act allows for executive sessions for matters where immediate public knowledge of the discussion will affect WACO’s finances. Given that all board members present accept that they are honor-bound not to violate the secrecy of an executive session. I move that we go into executive session to discuss the Caretakers’ claim for back wages. Motion was seconded
VOTE: Motion passed with no objection.
Those who were not board members left the hall. The board went into executive session. The board left executive session.
MOTION: Doyle Holmes moved that WACO engage the law firm Sedor, Wendlandt & Wang, LLC to respond on WACO’s behalf to Rich & Dee Pralle’s letter regarding a labor issue. The motion was seconded.
VOTE: The motion passed unanimously.
Caretakers’ Resignation.
The Board accepted the resignation of Mr & Mrs Pralle as caretakers.
MOTION: Mary Shreves moved that WACO advertise for new caretakers. The motion was seconded.
VOTE: The motion passed unanimously.
